Fan's perspective should be Poirier versus Olivera for undisputed belt (not Dana's go-to money fight). Gaethje versus Chandler for #1 spot afterwards (put as co-main on same card). McGregor versus Ferguson. Hooker versus RDA. Keen for those fights.
Of course. We need more than a title fight per year. The guy is inactive as fuck
No
lets compare ppv buys of Khabib to Conor, the actual question would be: Can Lightweight survive without the irish
He dont wanna fight GSP lol
Felt weird hearing the accent on this channel.
bruh the division is better without him, yes hes a fucking beast but also predictably boring and he will suffer the same fate as mighty mouse. Too good for his division and no one even cared when they left because people want to see competitive fights again not one sided sleep fests
Wait before Khabib's Dagestani army arrives to dominate the Octagon.
Not comparable. Khabib trashed the division. No one came close. Hendrix flat out beat GSP and was robbed.
the division can easily thrive
I agree with Khabib. As good as they are, none of these guys are good enough to take on Khabib. The division should try to move on rather than trying to continuously get the champ back.
I kind of wonder why we haven¨t heard who is going to fight for the lightweight title? As i stil see khabib in the rankings. Guess he is not really retiering?
Dana is talking like the ufc is the mob where you can't just walk away from. It doesn't work that way 🤣
Can we have a UFC light weight grand prix tournament ??? @12to6Elbows
If khabibs friend Islam is just as good as he wins the championship then it’s like khabib never left.
Dustin vs Justin for the belt Chandler vs Oliveira for the contender
I'm not sure how well khabib does against Olivera , i always thought a masterclass bjj or striker with great scrambles has the most chance against khabib.
FoooooK BiBiBi
Paul Felder is not a title contender, he's good but he's not elite.
Fighters retire all the time Khabib is the only one who didn't retire to get a bigger contract he doesn't care about money Dana looks silly telling Khabib how big a second fight with Conor would be after saying "if you think about retiring you probably should" he sounds like an actual bum asking for a cigarette. im happy for my boy i enjoy seeing him out having fun eating good food playing soccer even. When i saw Khabib tell DC they can go get a cappuccino and some fried chicken now that made me smile. Khabib has nothing left to prove the Khabib vs GSP fight makes no damn sense people are ridiculous for wanting that fight now. The division is stacked there is many good potential match ups. Poirier deserves title shot he can let Chandler, Gaethje Oliviera and even Conor fight it out for the other spot a lot of interesting things can happen Khabib is done he deserves his rest.
The 128 dislikes are from mcasual fans lmao
World move on, people got forgotten but it's for sure we all are going to miss huge great fights by Khabib
It'll be fine but like.. Everyone will always say "well you never beat khabib" no champion will ever be so good and dominant. Khabib is too good
Its like when Jordan left the NBA, anyone can win it now. Which is very interesting in its own right, but there is something to miss when someone so dominant leaves.
Man .. 1 guy does not make or break a whole division. That's taking so much away from the other guys who have worked just as hard. The top 15 guys in 155 are all amazing fighters.
Khabib is scared of micheal chandler
1,000th Comment
Not even gunna watch this anyone that says 155 won’t is delusional it’s easily the most stacked dev in the ufc.
LW will be more interesting due to greater competition. Khabib stifled that competition with his dominance. It's all to play for now...
Of course it will. There are so many talented people left.
just strip him dude he’s retired oh my god
Of course it will.
Dos Anjos, Barboza, Ia Quinta, McGregor, Poirier, Gaethje... Khabib dominated them all.
Man... the middle of this video feels trying to puff an mma essay
never looked forward to a kabob fight soooooooo
the most boring fighter ever
155 is gonna be just fine.
Well said
Islam is coming.... For all his mail Khabib opened lol.
Khabib 🐐
Khabib time
Wtf does he say at 10:30
Haha they will be fine without jock itch
It'll be OK. But there's not going to be 1 champ for a long time like Khabib can hold it. It's going to be a new champ every few title fights.
It can. 155 without Khabib is now fully competitive. Before, 2-15 just had amazing moments but we knew none of them mattered or would he champ. So yeah it can
If this were any other division I think there might be a cause for concern BUT lightweight still has Gaethje, Chandler, Oliveira, Poirer, Mcgregor, Ferguson, RDA, Felder, Hooker, Daruish (one of my favorites over the years, and even Kevin Lee. Let alone the tens of nonranked lightweights, the whole division is still such a murderers row of talent that I wouldn’t be surprised if it keeps its level of competition for years to come
Would love to see Khabib vs Chandler
You forgot about Islam Makhachev
Simply yes. There will always be a star and light weight is jam packed with contenders. The khabib jump was sort of like the jump from Franklin to Anderson and Matt Hughes to GSP. Ronda to Amanda. It’ll take some time but there will be someone better coming up. You have Chandler, Olivera and others that are great and coming up. LW is going to be fine with Khabib gone.
The title of this video had to be, Can UFC go without khabib?
Loitweigh division still stacked
Yes khabib barely fights once a year. Imo you can’t be the goat when you are not active and your resume is not that of a goat. Go look at khabibs resume and tell me he’s the goat
Quick answer: yes. Lol I love Khabib but the 155 division is stacked as fuuuuck
Ofcourse it can. He had a legendary run but Like every sport, it will continue without him especially When you consider that LW division is stacked
Eventually but for now the bar is is way too fucking high for the actuall prospects to climb up, maybe upcomming superstar caliber kinda talent.
And the mad thing is u didnt even mention Gaethje.. Lightweight division is stacked even without khabib, and Dana should just give up on him, let the man retire in peace
If baniel wins tonight he’s the next champ
Like Ali said “If i had a lower IQ i would enjoy it”
The Eagle era was different.
Khabib is not even a big star tbh. And he’s not the goat. Gap faced EVERYONE in he’s time. Khabib hasn’t faced tony, oliveira, or mike? He’s running he’s not the goat.
Foight
Dana's reaction after Conor loss is so funny 😆...anyway it is a bit better without Habib around more action
Lucky shot lol
Conor built the division. It not only survived but grew very much without him. Hence so will it without khabib. Dustin poirier is definitely a star in the making or I would dare say he is already a star. UFC knows how to make stars n make their business thrive.
LHW is a bum division right now, DC, Jon, Anthony Jhonson kept it alive by bringing truly elite level fighting, now the guys in it all have 1/2 win 1/2 loss record, ridiculous
great content , well done .
The bashful climb consequentially seal because inch concordantly dust midst a secretive handball. capable, blue cd
Can it thrive w/out Khabib? Yes. Cause lets be honest, it will be more competetive now and besides, Conor brings in a lot of views on it so that will bring in positivity on the economical aspect which is alll that matter at the end of the day.
4:40 beautiful
Better without khabib. It’s boring knowing who is going to win. Now it’s wide open! 😍
Conor and porier 3 for a tittle its a joke, porier deserves a chance at the tittle, conor doesnt
RETURN OF TONY FERGUSON COME ON
Such a bummer if he doesn’t come back. Khabib is a great champ but please leave him out of the GOAT conversation. GSP, Jones, and Silva dominated the number 1 contenders for years. They didn’t say “cmon I’d beat all those guys, Dana” they let their careers speak for them. As usual, the majority of the vocal current generation does no homework and makes ridiculous claims about this sport. 29-0 is ultra impressive but quality over quantity is way more important
Definitely more competitive. Otherwise khabib would have smeshed everybody
I never paid for PPV because I'm broke. But if Khabib fights again, I'll pay for PPV without hesitation
Khabib it's best p4p 1
It's probably better off without Khabib, He was about to turn the division to LHW like Jones lol
No cause dustin when he can get a title fight wants a trilogy fight with Connor instead if that's the case fuck it give Micheal chandler the title shot against Oliver is for the vacant title
Gaethje should fight with Chandler. Chandelier knows it's bad machup for him.
Thank you for the welterweight linage.
Let’s face it, Khabib was a boring fighter and couldn’t sell a PPV without Conor. His last PPV sold 625k against Justin and that was geared to air at prime time in the Russia/Arab world. He won’t be missed.
🤣🤣Salty bitter MCCNUGGET fan boys. KHABIB IS THE GREATEST OF AL TIME 29 WINS 0 LOST.
Put on 5kg and fight usman you to strong for these lightweights GSP old man if you want to be the known as the greatest fight usman
Haven’t even watched the video, the answer is yes. Tf
you should have a cc option
It would survive. We’d have new competition every time and nobody would doubt a fighter as much as they do now.
Eh not excited for the division now. Khabib didn’t just beat these guys he killed them non of them are on his level
Lol! His departure is the best thing to happen to create excitement. He was great but not lovable.
@jamie Mccarthy fair enough bro I apologise as well I love MMA and I think us fans can get too caught up in the hype sometimes I mean conor and khabib make millions of dollars they don't need me or you to speak for them.
@Śtrádá Climá yes, I wish that wasn’t the case as it makes the rest look bad. But, if you think about it, every nationality, race, religion all have bad apples within their communities, and I try to see the best in humanity until proven otherwise. I think it’s education and experience. People fear what they don’t know. As far as McGregor fans, I think sometimes they try to take on his old persona of talking smack but don’t realize that’s 💯 showmanship and behind the scenes (when he’s sober) seems to be a very very nice guy. And, it comes across ignorant on their behalf because they aren’t on a stage, performing, or fighting, they’re usually anonymous social media trolls. So, on behalf of true fight fans, and good people, I would like to apologize for any ignorant remarks about race or religion anyone has had to endure. It’s not cool and it’s frankly quite cowardly to do it while hiding behind some alias.
@Otto ok. Fair play.
@jamie Mccarthy have you not seen the videos of the team and khabib's interactions? Your term lovable has many applicable uses. Use your word choices properly man lol. You can say he isn't as much of a crowd pleaser...
@jamie Mccarthy I respect that bro but I just want to make it clear as well I don't have nothing against the Irish but some CONOR fans come of as really racist.
Yes
Man it’s gonna thrive without him
Khabib is not retired!!!!! Jesus people wake up
Not sure that #6 Conor (coming off a recent loss) fighting unranked Nate diaz should have ANY title implications
He barely fought, of course they can thrive.
I think so because I believe there isn’t anyone that’s on his level.
Chandler wins his debut and is so damn hyped now
He doesn't even fight anymore so
155 top 4 tourney
Should have ended one second in: Yes.
Conors done. He looked so bad in that fight. I only see more losses for him. Especially if he ends up fighting killers like Justin or Chandler.
It’ll be better
I think it's a little bit debatable to say LHW is thriving. Blachowicz vs Adesanya is a function of Adesanya not Blachowicz. It still feels weird to consider Jan the champ, and he's not even having a title defense before this fight.
